The Blacksmith Plover

In Afrikaans we call it the "Kiewiet". By the end of last week we've painted the Plover. This specific plover were photographed in a field about 100m from our home.

The style is simplistic yet striking. This time the background were left white with some grass indicating its natural habitat. For the grass we've used imitation gold leaf which is actually brass (a combination between copper and zinc). The brass will also complement the bronze sculptures that we plan along with the paintings.

In the end everything worked our perfectly. The next piece will be created using the same style.
