First dish from the garden.

Last night we made a dish comprised almost entirely from our vegetable garden's produce (except for some almonds). We just chopped up what we had, and threw it together into a fresh salad. There were carrots, peas, little bit of radish, scallions, the roasted nuts, and some lemons juice from a tree in the garden. We enjoyed our salad with a glass of sweet Swartland Hanepoot wine. The salad was plentiful and we couldn't entirely finish it. We also harvested a good amount of kale, baby spinach and chard, but did not add this to the meal. Our total weight harvested from the winter garden, since starting three months ago, is currently standing at 6,54 kg of fresh produce.

Vegetables from our winter garden.

Our next challenge will be to see if we can harvest enough food to supply us with a balanced diet for an entire day.
