And now it is time for our concrete clocks.
During the month of July we worked and developed a new exciting concrete range. The end result is a simplistic yet elegant concrete clock range with a rich blend of complimenting textures and colour.
With Riaan and Karma working on the design and Timo helping out with the technical mold design and mold making, we managed to create a range of three simplistic yet beautiful concrete clocks for our new extension called DaS. With Designerart Studio we hope to share the textures and materials that we get to work with on an almost daily basis, from wet clay to rich unique ceramics, wood, steel, concrete and even a bit of texture. We love textures! And also the authenticity of strong and sturdy natural materials as opposed to the plastic disposable and kitsch junk saturating the market and our sense of value.
For the making of these molds we've worked with a "new to us" polyurethane rubber. The range consists of two desk clocks and one wall clock. All three of these clocks are perfectly finished with cork complementing the earthy feel of the concrete.
Our products will be available soon on our online store. We will announce the launch and keep everyone posted on it's progress. Since August we have been working on reproducing the clocks and are now busy with other products that you can look out for, to be mentioned in the blog.
