Hi, so I've decided to finish the illustration that i have started yesterday. It is very simplistic, fast and effective. I might try this approach for a comic strip in the near future.

I have used a 6B pencil for the shading. The image was photographed instead of scanned. This allowed me to have more control over the softer pencil shades in the illustration.

This is how the final illustration turned out. I've added the colour using photoshop. Hope you like it.
