Bronze casting weekend
This weekend I've managed to cast my first hollow bronze
cast with great success. This time I've heated the mold in a separate
fire, and poured the molten bronze while the mold was lying in the warm
coals. It did work but i still believe that the mold should be even
warmer. Some of my gating still froze.
For my next attempt I want to encourage the fire of the
mold with a fan. The temperature of the mold should reach about 700
degree Celsius. The piece will now be refined and patinated.
